A fascinating part of MacKenzie's work is the texture in the glaze. The kind of thing one wouldn’t have access to without picking up the pottery.
Those beautiful textures are the focus of the cover and the background images within the book. The accompanying clean, utilitarian lines of the layout honor the philosophy of Warren MacKenzie, who feels that simplicity and use make an object beautiful.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
